Hide Preparation
Currently only accepting custom orders for sheep and goats for washable hair on mimosa bark tanning. Will also purchase quality properly prepared pelts for tannery resale. Please follow hide preparation instructions when sending in pelts and please fill out the custom hide tanning form. There are no guarantees as hide tanning is done at the owners risk.
*Proper preparation is the key to a lovely finished product.*
If you use a butcher or processor who has a hide puller your hides will usually just need to be salted. If they do not you will need to FLESH any remaining pieces before salting for best results.

Extra fees
The thought behind two set pricings was so that we did not need to charge extra and so you, the producer, could budget accordingly and find no surprises in your bill. However, there are always exceptions...
Unprepared hide not accepted
Fiber 4” or longer $30 per hide
Burr removal $50 per hide
*Bark tannage may alter the color of wool fiber slightly and the leather will be a light salmon color.
*Less than a dozen burrs will be picked at no charge. Any more there will be consultation and if you would still like us to proceed the above charge will stand.
